About Karuvelam ( Mesquite Tree ):-

The trunk of the mesquite can reach a diameter of up to 1.2 meters and reach a maximum height of 12 meters. The leaves of the mesquite tree are bi-pinnate and light green. They have 12-20 leaflets. Flowering occurs shortly after the development of leaves. Flowers are 5-10 cm green-yellow cylinder spikes in 2-5 clusters at the end of branches. The pods range from 20 to 30cm and contain 10-30 seeds. A mature plant produces hundreds of thousands of seeds. The seeds can remain viable for up to ten years. Trees reproduce by seeds and not vegetatively. Cattle and other animals spread seeds by consuming the seed pods.
