 About Thalisapathiri (Indian Silver Fir):-

The Indian Silver Fir, known scientifically as Abies Webbiana and commonly referred to as Talisa pathri, is a member of the Pinaceae family, recognized as the pine family of conifers. This tall evergreen tree features horizontally spreading strong branches and can reach heights of up to 60 meters. Its bark is rough and brown, while young shoots are adorned with small, short brown hairs. Traditionally utilized for medicinal purposes, Talisa pathri emits an odor reminiscent of terebinthine and possesses an astringent taste. Rich in phytochemicals, this plant contains various components such as abstain, bioflavonoids, beta-sitosterol, n-triacontanol, etoposide glycoside, methylbetuloside glycoside, as well as essential oils like alpha-pinene, beta-pinene, limonene, carvone, monoterpenes camphene, and bornyl acetate. Steroids, tannins, saponins, amino acids, phytosterols, alkaloids, and lipids biflavonoid are also present. Talisa Pathri thrives in the higher regions of the Himalayas at altitudes ranging from 2800 to 10000 feet, specifically in areas such as Assam, Nepal, Bengal, and Kashmir.
